(KMOV) – A three-year-old child was found wandering alone in a De Soto neighborhood late Monday night.
Police say the girl was found walking along East Miller and Blow Street around 11 p.m. wearing a long sleeve shirt, pajama pants and a dirty diaper.
After officers searched for nearly an hour, they located a home on the 700 block of East Third that was determined to be the child’s home.
Authorities, along with a case worker assigned through the Department of Family Services returned the child to her home.
According to the child’s parents, she climbed over a baby gate, unlocked the front door and left the home while the rest of the family was sleeping.
The DFS will conduct an investigation and report their findings to the De Soto Police for possible child endangerment charges.
