ST. LOUIS -- The number of people living in downtown St. Louis is on the rise.
KMOX Radio reports that 14,000 people now live downtown—double the number from 13 years ago. Missy Kelley of the civic group Partnership for Downtown St. Louis says the downtown area had the largest percentage increase in the 25-34 age group in the U.S. since 2000.
Kelley says more residential space is under construction, and she expects Ballpark Village to further increase the number of downtown residents. The complex near Busch Stadium is expected to open next April.
