(KMOV.com) – Ameren announced on Thursday it will be donating $25,000 to help victims of the massive tornado that swept through Moore, Okla. tornado Thursday.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of Moore, Okla., and surrounding areas who have experienced the loss of loved ones and property from this devastating tornado," Ameren Missouri CEO Warner Baxter said. "As Midwesterners, we know full well the impact severe weather can have on the lives and communities we serve. We have a responsibility to help our neighbors in need.”
The St. Louis-based utility company also said it will aid the Red Cross and help in other ways.
“In addition to the financial support, we have alerted our utility colleagues in Oklahoma that we stand ready to deploy our line crews and field personnel to aid in power restoration if additional resources are needed," Ameren Illinois CEO Richard Mark said.
Ameren employees can contribute to the recovery effort through a payroll deduction in June and July or by donating a one-time gift.
