(KMOV) – Three St. Louis area schools were either closed or dismissing students early on Tuesday due to excessive heat.
Officials with Greenfield C U School District 10 in Greenfield, Ill. said it would end classes at 12:30 p.m. Legacy Christian Academy in Caseyville was closing at 12 p.m.
St. Matthew Lutheran in St. Louis was closed altogether.
The high on Tuesday was expected to reach 100 degrees, which would set a new record for Sept. 10 in St. Louis. The current record is 98 degrees, which was set in 1983.
