(KMOV) – A Madison County grand jury on Thursday indicted a Wood River police officer on accusations he solicited sex from a woman in exchange for helping her with an investigation.
Jeremy Elliott, 32, was charged with one count of official misconduct, a felony.
According to the indictment, Elliot was working as a patrol officer when he told a 29-year-old Wood River woman he would assist her with an investigation in exchange for sex.
Elliot, who’s suspended without pay, faces up to five years in prison if found guilty.
He was expected to turn himself into the Madison County Jail in Edwardsville some time Thursday. His bond was set at $50,000.
