ST. LOUIS -- A state audit of St. Louis Public Schools will soon become public.

Missouri Auditor Tom Schweich plans to release the review Wednesday. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the audit began last year after allegations that some employees at city schools inflated state standardized test results by improperly filling in answers and coaching students who took the Missouri Assessment Program.

The newspaper previously reported that district officials had investigated potential test fraud at Patrick Henry Downtown Academy and the Herzog and Ford elementary schools. Some teachers said they were instructed to violate the rules by their principals.

Statewide, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education received more than 100 reports of cheating and other standardized testing irregularities in 2010 and 2011.
