(KMOV) – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man believed to be responsible for the recent spike in extension cord thefts.
According to authorities, an unexplainable rise in the disappearance of extension cords prompted the Lincoln County Sheriff to instruct residents to lock their garages.
During the week of August 26-28, a St. Louis County resident reported an unknown suspect who stopped by his home claiming to be selling random extension cords. The resident, who was suspicious, snapped a photo of the man.
The Lincoln County extension cord thief continues to gain access to unlocked unattached sheds along Highway 47, east of Troy.
If anyone has any information on the identity or whereabouts of this man is urged to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at (636) 528-8546.
