(KMOV) – A section of Interstate 270 was back open Tuesday morning, hours after a major water main broke causing water to flood the interstate.
Vehicles were backed up for miles after the main broke at I-270 and Old Halls Ferry Road around 10 p.m.
Missouri American Water crews responded to the and repaired the break, which at one point caused about three feet of water to flood the interstate.
All westbound lanes of I-270 were shut down in the area, but opened up about 2 a.m.
Old Halls Ferry and Dunn were reopened Tuesday evening.
