EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- Funeral services are set for an East St. Louis woman who prosecutors allege was stabbed to death by her former boyfriend.
Authorities say 25-year-old Michelle Rowling was killed on Nov. 30 in her apartment. That was just five days after she posted on Facebook that if anything should happen to her, her love to her two young children and her mother should be conveyed.
That online posting came the same day 25-year-old Montrell Cooper was released from jail after pleading guilty and getting probation in his latest battery case involving Rowling.
Prosecutors charged Cooper with first-degree murder last Thursday.
Messages left with his public defender haven't been returned.
Services for Rowling will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in East St. Louis.
