CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) -- St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley is formally running for office again.
Dooley launched his fourth re-election bid Thursday at a hotel near Lambert Airport. This time, he faces a challenge in the August Democratic primary from Steve Stenger, a county councilman.
Stenger has received endorsements from some unions and their leaders. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports he has raised about $90,000 more than Dooley.
Dooley has the backing of St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and U.S. Rep. Lacy Clay, among others.
