St. Louis, Mo. (KMOV) - Police are investigating a shooting in the Carondelet neighborhood in south St. Louis.
Authorities were called to the 6200 block of Michigan around 2:00 a.m. When officers arrived they found a man lying face up in a parking lot without any shoes on. Police say he was shot in either the head or the back. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was 37-year-old Hoa Le. Police have not made an arrest but belive they are looking for one person who caught two victims off guard as they were getting into their car around 2:00 a.m.
The surviving victim said they were leaving a birthday party at a banquet hall when a man with a gun approached the passenger side of the car and tried to hold them up. The driver had gotten out of his car, and the passenger had tried to get out until the robber began shooting at the passenger, Le. Le was shot multiple times and got as far as the building's back door before he collapsed.
Police said they are looking for more witnesses and other crime reports that could be tied to this attempted robbery and murder. The suspect ran away, heading west on Bowen from Michigan.
The investigation is ongoing.
