(KMOV.com) – Serious accusations have rocked Cuba, Missouri, as police officers have alleged their police chief, Paul Crow, has threatened to kill an alderman.
The department released a statement that reads:
The chief is acting above the law and has lost the respect of every officer and betrayed the trust of residents.
Officers told News 4 they went back to the state’s attorney with more evidence against their chief.
Cuba Mayor Ray Mortimeyer said the accusations our unproven and the prosecuting attorney has not elected to press any charges. But officers said they have solid evidence of the threat - as well as other things - such as changing officer’s time sheets and misusing public money.
Mortimeyer said the city is doing its own investigation while the officers continue to push for his ouster.
Crow did not return any inquiries from News 4.
