(KMOV.com) – St. Louis Police are searching for three suspects accused of forcing a man out of his car and into his trunk as they drove the car through South City.

According to police, the victim was approached by two women and a man who drew a gun on him and stuffed him into the car near the intersection of Grand and Bingham before 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the suspects then drove about a mile away and dumped the green Ford Escort into an alley at Giles and Liermann Avenue.

The victim, a 38-year-old man, was able to push the backseat forward to escape from the trunk to then call police. He was not shot, but he was transported to the hospital for injuries he sustained being pistol whipped.

The suspects were able to flee the scene.
