2 In custody after firing shots in downtown St. Louis

St. Louis, Mo.  (KMOV) -- Two men are in custody after firing shots from a vehicle in downtown St. Louis early Friday morning.

According to police, officers in the 2100 block of Market observed a 22-year-old man enter the passenger side of a black Ford Taurus and fire several shots from the vehicle at 1:38 a.m.

After officers broadcasted a description of the vehicle, officers in the Third District attempted to pull the vehicle over at Market and Jefferson. The vehicle fled to the area of Ashland and Taylor where it was involved in an accident.

The 23-year-old driver of the vehicle fled from the scene following the accident.

Officers took the 22-year-old passenger into custody without incident. The 23-year-old suspect was located in the 4600 block of Elmbank and taken into custody.

Authorities found a stolen gun and suspected narcotics inside the vehicle

 

The investigation is ongoing.
