(KMOV.com) - If you live in Velda Village you will need a sticker to park, without it you will be fined. The ticket price along with court costs will run you $65.00.
Some residents tell News 4 it is simply a way for the city to make money.
The city alleges financial records prove the stickers cost more money for the city than going after cars without a sticker. The stickers are free for the first two months of the year, after that it will cost $2.00.
Court Administrator Steven Flowers said the stickers are a way to keep track of who is coming in and out of the neighborhood.
Leaders admit there is no posted sign to tell outsiders they cannot park in the village for a period of time. However, the mayor said the city will post signs in the future.
