Woman charged in fatal north St. Louis stabbing

(KMOV) – Homicide detectives were called to investigate two separate incidents early Wednesday morning in the St. Louis area.

At 12:15 a.m. authorities were called to investigate a stabbing in the 6000 block of W. Florissant in north St. Louis. The victim was found lying on the sidewalk, suffering a stab wound to the neck.

The victim, later identified as 33-year-old Tyrone Barnett, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Twenty-four-year-old Tyianna Motton was taken into custody in connection to the stabbing. 

Homicide detectives also responded to the 1200 block of McCasland in East St. Louis after a male victim was found in the rear of a housing project. No other details were immediately known of this investigation.
