Family Resource Center (FRC) began their Junior Advocacy Board in 2007 to engage young St. Louis professionals with the mission of preventing and treating child abuse. FRC provides supportive care to approximately 10,000 children and parents in the St. Louis area each year. Their programs help kids heal from the trauma of abuse and neglect, and strengthen families through therapeutic, educational, support and advocacy services.

The Junior Advocacy Board's mission is to increase awareness of FRC's mission among young adults, promote FRC in the community, and help Junior Advocacy Board members develop skills and experiences which will enable them to serve in future key roles on Family Resource Center's Governance and Advocacy Boards.
The Junior Advocacy Board holds many fundraisers throughout the year, including the "Serving a Cause" Celebrity Bartending Event this Friday, November 20th, at Club 15.
They also hold annually the “Serving it up for the Kids” Sand Volleyball Tournament, the "Ready, Set, Go!" 5K Run/Walk, and various happy hours and after hours events throughout the year.
The Junior Advocacy Board is always looking for new young professionals who would either like to join the board, or get involved by hosting or volunteering at one of their events. To talk to someone about joining the board or to just get more information, contact Tina Nelson at 314.534.9350 or via email at
