Missouri Tigers fans likely have mixed feelings after today’s surprisingly easy 38-12 win over Kansas State. Mizzou dominated the game, and finally came to play in the second half. The matchup was never really close.
So where was this last week?
The Tigers are still reeling from a shocking loss at home against Baylor. If Missouri would have won last Saturday, followed by today’s victory, they would certainly be in the driver’s seat for a 3rd straight Big 12 North title.
But let’s not focus on the past.
Blaine Gabbert and Danario Alexander had a special connection today, as the senior wide receiver caught 10 passes for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns. Gabbert was outstanding, going 20 for 27, racking up 298 yards and those 3 touchdowns to Alexander.
Derrick Washington ran for 68 yards on just 13 carries, and had two big second half touchdowns.
The defense held Kansas State running back Daniel Thomas to just 79 yards on 23 carries. Thomas was the Big 12’s leading rusher coming into play today.
The Tigers are now bowl-eligible for a MU record 5th straight year. They will take on Iowa State at home next Satuday at 1 p.m. The game will not be televised.
