Missouri suing six local auto warranty companies

(KMOV)-- The state of Missouri is suing six local auto warranty companies, calling their offers a hoax.

The companies are stoprepairbills.com, Nationwide Automotive Protection, Key Protection Group, Dealers Warranty, U.S. Auto Warranty and Dealer Warranty Services.
Koster said these auto warranty companies promise peace of mind under the hood, but that's not what they deliver.
Instead of paying for repairs, Koster said these companies charge more for the warranties than they pay out, use bait and switch to turn the warranties into service contracts, and make it almost impossible for the consumer to get refunds. These six are in addition to U.S. Fidelis, which is the subject of previous lawsuits.
If you have questions on if the warranty you want to buy is legit, call the Better Business Bureau or the Missouri attorney general's office.
