(KMOV) – A clean up team made up those who were caught illegally dumping around St. Louis worked in full-force Friday, to remove trash from the streets.
Police say a majority of illegal dumpers were caught thanks to security cameras.
Alderman Jeffrey Boyd says piled up tires are a big issue for the city when it comes to dumping. He says the tires lead to an increase in mosquitoes and can be an environmental issue if they caught fire.
Illegal dumping costs the city of St. Louis millions of dollars every year.
