ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Officials broke ground Thursday on a big expansion planned for the River City Casino in south St. Louis County.
The $82 million project calls for a 200-room hotel, a 10,000-square foot multi-purpose center and a massive covered parking garage.
“The construction alone will be 350 jobs and when the hotel and events center open we’ll have about a 100 permanent jobs at the facility itself,” said River City General Manager Neil Walkoff.
All of the work is expected wrap up in late 2013.
Between River City and Lumiere Place, Pinnacle says it has invested about $1 billion in the St. Louis area.
