BELLEVILLE, Illinois -- A southwestern Illinois woman is accused of punching her 82-year-old grandmother in the face and beating her with an unloaded shotgun after the elderly woman questioned the suspect's mothering.
The Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/GQ2Qwm ) reports that 21-year-old Ryan Eads is charged with aggravated battery, aggravated domestic battery and violating a protection order.
Eads was arrested Friday night after the grandmother reported the assault in the home they share near Collinsville.
Investigators say the alleged assault happened after the grandmother told Eads her 2-year-old son was dirty and that Eads wasn't taking good care of the boy.
The grandmother was treated at a hospital and released.
