2 Men injured in 2-alarm house fire in Creve Coeur

CREVE COEUR, Missouri (KMOV) -- Two people were injured after a fire broke out inside their home in Creve Coeur Monday morning.

The Monarch Fire Department arrived on scene on the 12900 block of Fernway to a two-alarm house fire at 8a.m. 

There were two male residents inside at the time; both were rushed to an area hospital.  One of the men is in critical condition after suffering serious burns and smoke inhalation.  He was rescued by the other victim who suffered minor smoke inhalation.  He has been released from the hospital. 

Fire crews were able to quickly get the fire under control, but the house suffered major damages to the ground floor level and water damage to the basement.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
