BELLEVILLE, Illinois –A Swansea man has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman outside a Metrolink station in Belleville on Tuesday.
Donnell T. Bolden, 29, was charged with two counts of felony sexual assault.
According to police, Bolden met the victim, 18, onboard a Metrolink train that was headed to the Belleville station on Scheel Street.
Police said when they got off the train, Bolden offered to give the woman a ride back to her home.
Authorities said they were walking toward Bolden’s vehicle in the 300 block of West H Street when he threw her down on the ground and sexually assaulted her.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police responded to the scene, but the Bolden had already fled the area. He was later apprehended after being identified by the victim.
Bolden remains in jail on $500,000 bond and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Saturday.
