2 Shot, carjacked while using Redbox machine in North County

ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Police are searching for a suspect who shot two men using a Redbox machine outside a Walgreens in North County Thursday morning.

Police said the two victims were returning a movie to the Redbox machine outside a Walgreens near the intersection of Halls Ferry and Chambers around 12:45 a.m. when a gunman approached.

Authorities said the suspect fired one shot, hitting both victims in the leg.

Police said the suspect then jumped in the victims' silver Chevy Cobalt and drove east towards downtown St. Louis.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Still, some customers who frequent the area say they’re concerned.

"As of this moment (I’ve never been worried), but that’s before I heard.  I'll be wary. I think I’'ll only return in the morning,” said customer Tre Tyson.

The Cobalt has a Missouri plate with a number KF2-M9M.

Authorities ask anyone who's seen the vehicle to contact police.
