ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Missouri – A driver is accused of killing a woman after running a red light in south St. Louis County early Sunday.
Elvedin Halkic, 33, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
According to police, Halkic was driving on South Lindbergh Boulevard around 1 a.m. when he ran a red light at East Concord Road.
Police said Halkic then crashed into a car driven by Edna Binder, 58, who was driving on Concord when she was hit while crossing over Lindbergh.
Binder was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center, where she later died.
Halkic was arrested at the scene and taken into the St. Louis County Jail. He was released Monday morning after posting $50,000 bond.
