(KMOV)-- The Illinois Department of Transportation announced lane closures on Interstate 57 in Marion County.
The right lane of southbound I-57 will be closed from mile marker 123 to 127, just outside of Kinmundy, Illinois.
The lane closures will take effect beginning at 11 a.m. Monday and last through 3:30 pm. Friday March 3.
The closure is needed to make repairs to the pavement surface and install new pavement markings in these areas.
Travelers are advised to consider alternate routes or allow additional time to travel in Marion County. The Department asks that all motorists be patient, reduce speed, and exercise added caution when traveling near and throughout this work zone.
