(KMOV.com) -- Police believe a recent car break-in where debit and credit cards were stolen from a vehicle in St. Charles, Missouri is related to a string of car break-ins during the same time frame.

Police said they have been investigating multiple car break-ins in the area of Riverside Drive near North Main Street.  They said two suspects are targeting vehicles with items left inside in plain view.  Vehicles that were locked have had their windows smashed to gain entry.  Purses, wallets, credit cards, laptop computers and small electronics are often the target of thieves.

On Friday, February 24th, a debit card and credit cards were stolen from a vehicle in the area.  Authorities said one of the suspects attempted to use the stolen debit card at an area ATM.

Police described the suspects as a black male and a black female.  Authorities released photos of the suspects on Monday, showing them in a convenience store purchasing various items.  It is not known at this time if the items were purchased with the stolen debit or credit cards.
