Boeing announced it will donate $1 million to charity care programs at Mercy Hospital St. Louis on Saturday.
Hospital officials said the aerospace and defense company's gift will support renovations to the JFK Clinic and expand local efforts to help underserved families.
“Boeing is committed to supporting organizations like Mercy Hospital that do tremendous work in the community, providing programs and services to those in need of care,” said George Roman, Boeing vice president of state and local government operations and St. Louis regional executive.
Mercy's JFK Clinic provides medical care, obstetrical services and low-cost prescriptions to more than 31,000 uninsured or under-insured patients. Hospital officials said Mercy plans to expand facilities and upgrade technology at the clinic.
Boeing's donation will be distributed to to the hospital over the next four years.
