(KMOV)-- A Godfrey man is believed to be missing after authorities found his abandoned truck in the parking lot of an Alton hospital. Police are now searching a quarry near that hospital.

A family member reported Charles "Chad" Roe, 36, of Godfrey, Illinois left his home on Southwood Drive around 5 p.m. on Thursday to go to the church. It is unknown if he made it to the service. Roe's family says his disapearance is highly unusual.

Roe's abandoned 2009 GMC Canyon was found by investigators in the rear parking lot of St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton, Illinois. The Madison County Sheriff and Alton Police searched the area extensively for any clues.

Roe is a 5'10 tall white male, weighs 175 pounds, has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone who believes they have seen Roe or has any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff's Office.
