ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV) – A school district in St. Charles County just passed a policy that will control relationships with teachers and students on Facebook.
The Fort Zumwalt School District created a new policy detailing what is allowed and what is not allowed for electronic communication between students and teachers.
The district requests that emails be sent through district computers which are monitored. Texts and social media is allowed, but a note will be sent to parents who will have to sign off on this type of communication.
Superintendent Bernie Durbay says they do background checks on all employees and trust them but rules were needed so everyone knows the consequences if broken.
