(BaseballStL) – Albert Pujols says he is not thrilled about the Angels’ new billboard campaign that features his likeness and the phrase “EL HOMBRE” or The Man.

St. Louis fans know that Pujols cringed at the nickname because he felt like it was disrespectful to Stan “The Man” Musial.

According to the article in the Los Angeles Times, Pujols says no one talked to him about the billboards and that his respect for Musial extends beyond St. Louis.

According to the article, the Angels dropped about $200,000 on the billboards. Team officials tell the Times that they will check with Pujols first before launching future campaigns.
