(KMOV.com) -- Police are trying to determine what caused a driver to lose control of their vehicle Monday morning and plow through a barrier fence at the "Old White" Grand Water Tower in north St. Louis.
Authorities said the accident happened around 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of East Grand Boulevard and North 20th Street. According to reports, the driver of a silver, 4-door car lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and plowed through a fence surrounding the historic tower.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and doctors indicated the driver was stable. No other injuries were reported.
