(KMOV) – Police charged a Florissant cafe owner with arson after he allegedly set fire to the Halls Ferry Inn Jazz Café on Sunday morning.

Warrants were issued on Monday for 40-year-old Lozell Stiles for Second Degree Arson after police say he set fire to his own café on the 3400 block of North 67 at 2:22 a.m.

A firewall is believed to have stunted the fire from destroying  the adjacent Music House. The owner of the music store says he’ll be back up and running by Friday after some cleanup.

Fire officials say buildings and malls with newly built fire walls do deter fires from spreading. They say the overnight fire could have easily taken the entire complex if it weren’t for the added protection.

No one was injured in the fire.

Stiles’ bail is set at $10,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
