(KMOV) -- Multiple lanes on Route 370 were closed for more than five hours overnight after a FedEx tractor trailer overturned, spilling debris on the highway.
The accident happened around 11:00 p.m. Thursday on westbound Route 370 at the Third Street exit. Police said the truck flipped overturned somehow and ended up blocking multiple lanes on the highway. Cargo in the trailer ended up scattered all over the highway and it took crews a few hours to get the truck upright and the debris cleaned up. At this time, it is not clear if any of the cargo was damaged.
Around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning, authorities finally cleared enough wreckage to allow traffic by the accident in one lane and on the shoulder.
Nobody was seriously injured in the accident. All lanes on westbound Route 370 have been reopened and traffic if moving normally.
Investigators are now looking in to how or why the driver lost control of the big rig.
