BELLEVILLE, Il. (KMOV) – Belleville police are investigating a claim that a former staff member at Belleville West High School violated a student.
No charges have been filed against the man who is accused of inappropriate conduct with a student at the school. The age and gender of the student are not known yet.
Belleville school officials made phone calls to parents in the district with the following message:
“Belleville Township High School District 201 officials learned that a student has made accusations of inappropriate conduct by a former staff member. We are taking these accusations very seriously and have contacted all the appropriate agencies that must receive such a report. We are cooperating fully with law enforcement as this issue is investigated. This staff member is no longer employed by BTHS 201.
At BTHS 201, protecting the welfare of all students and providing a safe, secure learning environment is our first priority. We encourage all BTHS 201 students and families to share any concerns they have about this issue or any other potential situation with their school‘s counselors or another trusted adult in the building. Our district’s counselors are prepared to assist students in any way needed.”
Belleville police urge anyone with more information to contact them. More information to this story is expected to be released tomorrow.
