Godfrey woman arrested after attempting to grab officer's gun

(KMOV) -- A Godfrey, Illinois woman is in custody after police said she attempted to disarm an officer when police arrived at her home in reference to a prior incident.
The Madison County Sheriff got a call a little before 11 a.m. on Saturday about an unwanted subject. The suspect had already left when deputies arrived at 77 Fairmont Drive North in Alton, Illinois. The homeowner identified the person as Jodi Abbott, 27.
Authorities then went to Abbott's home in the 2800 block of Gerson Avenue in Godfrey, Illinois to question her about the incident. During the questioning, Abbott tried to pull a deputy's weapon from his holster. Officers were able to prevent her from getting control of the gun.
Abbot has been slapped with two misdemeanors charges of criminal trespassing and resisting a peace officer. Her bond was set at $20,000.
