BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- The half-sister of the southwestern Illinois-born beagle that won the American Kennel Club's Westminster dog competition's best of show four years ago has some awards of her own.

Belleville-bred Allie was named best of the opposite sex in the 15-inch beagle category Monday at the well-known dog show in New York.

Allie would have had to win best of breed to compete for best of show like her half-brother, Uno, did in 2008. Now-retired Uno became the first beagle to win that competition that year.

Uno went on to visit the White House, and Illinois' then-lieutenant governor, Pat Quinn, deemed a day that year "Uno the Beagle Day."
