COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri coach Gary Pinkel says the Tigers' successful third-quarter fake field goal wasn't aimed at running it up the score on Nevada.
He says it was meant to give future opponents something to think about.
Pinkel says when you run a fake, everyone will prepare for a possible fake in future games.
Pinkel says he wasn't wasting the fake at a time when Missouri was already up 45-to-17 because it was prepared solely for the Wolf Pack.
Receiver Tommy Saunders threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to tight end Chase Coffman on the fake.
