HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (AP) -- How serious can a beef between a couple of 9-year-old girls be?
Plenty, if the dispute causes one of the girls' mothers to go online and create a hoax involving the other mom.
That's what authorities in Happauge, New York say happened.
Police say one of the mothers has been charged with aggravated harassment after posting an online classified ad on Craigslist, claiming to be from a woman seeking sex with men.
The woman allegedly gave out the phone number of the mother of her daughter's rival to anyone who replied by e-mail to the sex offer.
Last year a jury in Los Angeles convicted a Missouri mother for her role in a MySpace hoax that led to a 13-year-old committing suicide.
She'll be sentenced next week and faces up to three years in prison.
