Two rabid bats have been found in Madison County, according to a report issued this week by Dr. David T. Hall, the administrator of Madison County Rabies Control.
The first was found in Midway under some lumber that was being moved. The second was found in a swimming pool in the Glen Carbon area, according to the report. The person who found the bat in Midway is undergoing post-exposure immunization as a precaution. It is not known whether there was any human exposure.
