(CBS) -- “Pitch Perfect” is singing a new tune—one about a sequel.
Universal Pictures announced at CinemaCon on Tuesday that a follow-up to the 2012 film about collegiate a capella groups will hit theaters sometime in 2015, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Kay Cannon, who wrote the “Pitch Perfect” screenplay, will also pen the sequel.
The news comes a few days after members of the cast joined Rebel Wilson to open the MTV Movie Awards with a performance.
Last week, Anna Kendrick (who did not participate in the Movie Awards opener) released a music video for her rendition of “Cups,” which she performed in the film.
