Missouri Revenue Director resigns amid conceal carry controversy

(KMOV.com) -- Monday saw new developments the ongoing controversy over the State of Missouri sharing a list of conceal and carry permit holders with federal agencies.

Brian Long, Director of Missouri’s Department of Revenue resigned suddenly after holding the position since last December.

No reason was given for his resignation, but the department has been accused of sharing conceal and carry permit information with federal agencies.

The department has denied that, but does acknowledge giving the information to the Missouri Highway Patrol, which provided it to the Social Security Adminstration.

Social Security officials said Mondey the data was never used and has been destroyed.
