(KMOV.com) – Many Ameren Illinois customers will pay less for electricity in 2013 as a result a reduction in the wholesale price of electricity.
The new rates for electricity – shown as the “Electric Supply” charge on bills – will mean a typical residential customer who uses 10,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity anually will save approximately $107 per year.
“This is very good news for all of our customers,” said Ameren Illinois President & CEO Richard J. Mark. “Those who purchase their electricity through a retail electric supplier as well as those who get their electric supply from Ameren Illinois are benefitting from lower electric supply costs.”
The lower rates are set to go into effect June 1.
