WENTZVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A toddler was not hurt after authorities say he was found wandering alone outside with little clothing on.
According to authorities, the child was only wearing a turtleneck, one sock, and a diaper. Police said they do not know how long the toddler was outside but know that an older sibling left for a school at 7:30 a.m. Police said they received a call about the toddler just after 8 a.m.
Police are not releasing the gender or specific age but have said he or she is under two years old.
Authorities also said the child’s mother was inside the family’s apartment sleeping at the time. The toddler and older sibling are currently in the custody of the Missouri Division of Family Services.
The mother was arrested and then released, authorities do not know if they will be filing charges yet. The investigation is ongoing.
