Bill Clinton, Stephen Colbert set to begin three day event in St. Louis

(KMOV.com) -- Former President of the United States Bill Clinton, TV host Stephen Colbert and St. Louisan and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey are in St. Louis to take part in the 2013 Clinton Global Initiative University at Washington University- St. Louis this weekend.
The event is in its sixth year. The event brings together world leaders to take action on global challenges with the next generation of leaders on college campuses.
Other big name people and celebrities attending the event are Jada Pinkett-Smith and Chelsea Clinton.
This year’s meetings at Washington University will bring together nearly 1,200 attendees to make a difference in five focus areas: education, environment and climate change, peace and human rights, poverty alleviation and public health.
Washington University officials said the school was selected for this year’s event in part because of its institutional commitment to training the next generation of civic leaders
The three day event kicks off Friday evening. Sunday’s activities will include a community service project.
The general public cannot attend the event, but can watch some of the sessions live online.
