ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A bomb and arson unit was dispatched to south St. Louis Wednesday morning after someone reported finding a suspicious device in the parking lot of an automotive shop.
Authorities said crews responded to the lot of Unique Auto Works in the 4700 block of Morgan Ford Road near the Bevo Mill around 8:15 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews found a device that police officials said may have been a grenade. Two nearby business were evacuated as a precaution.
Technicians seized the object without incident and later determined the package did not contain any explosives.
No injuries were reported.
An investigation is ongoing.
