HOUSTON (BaseballStL) – Jaime Garcia is expected to return Tuesday night against the Houston Astros after skipping his last scheduled start due to left elbow discomfort.
The Cardinals are hoping a well-rested Garcia can help the struggling team that has lost seven of its last ten games. It might be the perfect time for the Cardinals to face the Astros, who snapped an eight-game losing streak Sunday, and, in particular, starter Lucas Harrell.
Harrell was horrendous in his last start after allowing nine earned runs on ten hits in five innings pitched against the Colorado Rockies. The Springfield, Missouri native pitched 5.1 innings and got the win against the Cardinals in a 5-4 victory on May 4.
Harrell has a 4-4 record with a 4.71 earned run average in eleven starts this season with the Astros.
