ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Two people were hospitalized after a rollover wreck on Interstate 70 early Monday morning.
Police said the accident happened around 12:40 a.m. on I-70 near Salisbury Street in north St. Louis.
According to reports, the two victims were ejected from their vehicle after the driver lost control and struck a guard rail, causing the car to roll over.
One of the victims was found down a grass embankment about 25 yards from the roadway.
A News 4 photographer could not determine the make and model of the vehicle because it was so damaged.
Officials said both victims suffered serious injuries, but both were expected to survive. Doctors said they were stable at the hospital.
There's no word if there were any other occupants in the vehicle, but one woman was seen sitting on a guardrail talking to police.
An accident reconstruction crew was called to the scene, but the request was later canceled after emergency officials determined there were no fatalities.
Westbound I-70 was closed for about an hour while crews cleared the wreckage.
The cause of the wreck is still unclear.
