ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A dog owner is facing charges after his pitbull allegedly attacked and bit a man in south St. Louis Monday.
According to police, the victim was walking with a friend around 1:30 a.m. when the dog attacked.
The victim's friend, Corey Kosulandich, said the incident started with a petty argument. He said the pitbull latched on to his friend's leg, also biting him in the back and arm.
The pitbull's owner, Izehe Martin, faces assault and armed criminal action charges. Police say Martin used the dog as a weapon, ordering "Boi Boi" to attack the victim.
"Common sense tells you that if you have a pitbull, and you order it to attack someone, that's a dangerous situation," said St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce.
Martin said the victim kicked his dog, which prompted the attack.
According to Kosulandich, the victim was trying to defend himself from the dog's bite.
